I am originally from England, having immigrated to Western Australia in 2014. I have a great passion for nurturing children in their ongoing educational journey and watching them thrive. I have a wealth of teaching experience and continue to develop my practice through continued professional learning of new initiatives and teaching strategies.
I joined the wonderful Bungaree team in 2015, inspired by the innovative focus on ‘explicit teaching’ and a strong desire to support every child in reaching their unique potential. Here at Bungaree we work as a close, supportive Early Childhood team to ensure a seamless transition through all stages of development.
Leanne Bartlett I have been an Education Assistant since 2000, working with children from early intervention Kindy through to Year Seven in the Rockingham region at various schools. I came to Bungaree in 2015, specialising in Special Needs and now I am a part-time mainstream Education Assistant. I enjoy working with children and teaching them different strategies and skills. I love being a part of the Bungaree team.
I have lived in Rockingham for 26 years and have worked at Bungaree Primary for 22 years after working at Hillman Primary for 2 years. I initially started part time as a Teacher Assistant in the Pre-Primary, Year 1 and 2 classes. I have been working as a Special Needs Assistant for the last 12 years. This work experience has enabled me to work from Year 1 to Year 7 classroom. I enjoy working in the Special Needs area. My priority is to help students feel welcome, valued and happy. I believe this is the foundation to a great learning experience. To be a part of a student’s journey through school is a wonderful and rewarding occupation.
Throughout Term 3 Room 19 are exploring a range of Literacy, Numeracy and Cross-curricular activities through the theme ‘Traditional Stories’. You can help at home by exploring your favourite traditional stories together.
Remember to read with your child regularly and practise the spelling activities sent home. Your child can change their reading book when they are ready by looking in the blue box with their name on in class. Look out in their folders for new homework activities and information. Please make sure your child brings their homework folder to school every day.
Our Class assembly is based upon the traditional story ‘Cinderella’. It will begin promptly at 8.50am on Tuesday 11th August, which is Week 4. Please remember to practise your child’s part with them at home in preparation – letters regarding their parts have been sent out in Week 1. If you have any questions please come and ask. We look forward to seeing you there…
Room 19 and Room 20 will be hosting a Father’s Day event after school on Friday 4th September at 3.15pm. Details regarding this event will be sent home early this term.
